Motion for debate: English-speaking songs are much better than Spanish-speaking songs

Presented by quaver1969

I much more prefer English-speaking songs to Spanish-speaking songs.

However, to be fair and not so much biased I’ll give you a link for a Spanglish-speaking song.

Do you agree?

  1. difficult question!

I’ve heard too many times before that English is much more easy
to rhyme and also people say that it’s more melodic.

On one hand, the 70% of the music I usually listen to it’s in English,
and I think this fact has helped me to improve my listenings.
But on the other, hand in my opinion, a son in Spanish
if it’s good it’s much more good than one in English.
I don’t know why, maybe it’s because is my mother tongue and I feel it more ‘deep’.

All in all, for me, if a song is good it doesn’t matter the language.

here I post two links, a Spanish and an English song that I like,
    I hope you enjoy it:

  2. It´s clear for me… most of spanish music sucks in my oppinion, I just can´t stand Spanish Pop or Spanish Hip-hop… anyway, instrumental music is the best for me 🙂

  3. Hi!

I agree with abcde, I think the important of a song is the lyrics (I suppose all of us are able to understand more or less an English song).

So sometimes you prefer to listen Spanish songs and sometimes English songs, it depends on the moment.

My favourites singers or groups are: La Quinta Estación, The Beatles, Paramore, Luis Fonsi, Muse,… so you can see that there are English and Spanish ones.

I post a link with one of my favourites songs in English. I hope you like it.

  4. In my opinion, the best is Spanish music, except Leonardo Dantel. Lyrics and rhythm are more emotional. In case that you can’t understand the lyrics but, you will feel it by the music.
It’s like Eurovision, I don’t understand Greek song, but I will vote for it.
    Music is feeling.

  5. Hi!

I’ll give you a link for the same song in Spanish

-This video is a bit weird but there was not another link for this song in Youtube-.

    and in English.
