Book review: Restless

by Claudia González

This is the story of a British spy, Eva Delectorskaya, who works in America during the early years of the second world war. Her work consists basically in convincing the American government to enter the war against Hitler’s Germany. To carry out this task, Eva has to manipulate and place some pro-British and anti –German articles in the American press, in order to bring America into the war on the side of the UK and Russia.

The plot is a bit difficult to understand because the author links this story with another one: Eva´s daughter´s life. Both are perfectly mixed up with a wonderful atmosphere of suspense until the end. Despite the possible perplexity or confusion in the beginning, because of the skipping from one story to the other, little by little you pick up on all the details and inferences to such a point that you get emotionally involved in it.

I highly recommend this book. I´d say that it is a riveting story, a real page-turner!
