Book review: The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time

By Irene Sánchez

The curious incident of the dog in the night-time is a murder mystery novel but very different from the ones we are used to read. Christopher Boone is the detective and narrator of the story, he is fifteen and he has Asperger’s Syndrome, he lives in his perfect world with his father and his rat Tobby, but all of this changes the night he discovers that Wellington, his neighbour’s dog has been killed with a fork. He starts an investigation that will lead him to discover secrets that he would never expect, to go far from his home to places where he has never been, and to do things that a few months before would seem to be imposible for him, turning his life upside down.

I’ve enjoyed this novel vey much  because it is about a very special boy, with a very different way of seeing the world. It’s very interesting how the boy tries to overcome the obstacles that he finds to do everything that would be easy for most people. I think that is a wonderful story and we can learn very much about it.
