High Art

I saw a movie some time ago which is titled “High Art”. It is a lesbian-themed drama starring Radha Mitchell, Ally Sheedy and Patricia Clarkson as the main characters.

It tells the story of two women who are neighbours and get it contact while one of them is investigating a ceiling leak that comes from the other’s flat. This encounter evolves into a love affair between them.

I didn’t like this movie because it presents a world of marginality related to drugs abuse, the world of the lesbian character in the movie. In addition to this I found it slow-moving. It almost sent me to sleep!

Anyway, it won the 1998 Sundance Film Festival’s Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award. It was written and directed by Lisa Cholodenko.

But if you want to see a good lesbian-themed drama you got to see “Aimée and Jaguar”, look for a reference in the Internet. I won’t tell you anything about it.

Bye.
